Overview of Summer Ballet Camp in Russia

SUMMER DANCE CAMP is for YOUNG BALLET DANCERS from 10 to 20 years old with variety of learning experience for students with wide range of ballet skills. The ballet lessons are offered by GITIS (Russian Academy of Theatre Arts) and has all advantages of ballet education. The summer ballet intensive program will take place in the main building of GITIS located at in the center of Moscow. All ballet classes will be taught by GITIS method, which is based on Russian Ballet School traditions. All the teachers were brilliant dancers in the past and are great teachers of the country now. They all have graduating diplomas of GITIS and tremendous amount of professional dance experience in working with students of all ages.

During summer ballet camp, teachers will lead classes of ballet, pointe, character, partnering, historical, and make-up. At the end of the program students will have final performance that will be held on the professional stage and will be followed by a celebration dinner. You will get a certificate after finishing the seminar, which will state that you advanced your level of qualification in ballet dancing skills. Our summer students will enjoy a process of a few fittings for the exclusively fit costume that they can buy for the final performance. This costume will be provided by Theatre Ballet – Premier with a 10%DISCOUNT. Also TBpremier provide each student with a FREE PAIR OF POINT SHOES, which they can choose the fabric for.

Student's Guests

Russian Ballet Camp also presents an opportunity for someone to accompany (student ballet teacher or relative) to visit our ballet intensive as well. Teachers of any school of ballet can attend Russian Ballet Camp for a teacher ballet seminar in GITIS. They will visit all classes to learn more about Russian ballet methods, to get a higher qualification of education in teaching ballet, pointe, character dance and others classes. All teachers will have the same privileges as camp students, including transportation and excursions. At the end of the program each teacher will receive a certificate of finishing a ballet teacher seminar in GITIS.

The goal of our ballet program is to learn Russian ballet technique in its native environment.

Activities included

You will have a full ballet program under GITIS with a final performance and celebration dinner at the end of the program;; Excursions in Moscow are included in the program’s package; you may choose and order extra excursions on our Excursions page for an additional charge; Housing with suite rooms with breakfast; We provide you with all transportation surrounded by the framework of the schedule of our program; The interpreter will be with you at all times to help you with translations, during the program.

Registration Process

If you decide to join our program you will need to fill out a Registration Form on our web site and send it to us. A registration fee will apply. We will confirm your registration by e-mail, which will guarantee that we have booked your space. We will also send you all of the information and the total price for your trip with the Travel VISA Application. Please send us the Audition Information as soon as possible so that we can arrange your space in the program. If you would like to travel with someone to accompany you please fill out a separate accompany application. Also if you would like to take additional excursions you will have an Excursion program form (you can fill out this form later). You can find more information about Travel VISA at http://www.russia-visa.com. We can also help you get a Travel VISA, so that you do not have to spend your time at the Russian Embassy to collect all of the documents needed to receive a VISA, which is a very tedious task.

Audition process
This audition will be FREE OF CHARGE. Please send us a 10 min VHS / DVD with the student's head and feet showing at all times. You can send the class videotape or performance video tape, but we should see everything that the student can do, so we can see the level of ballet the student has. The video should be taped in the same year or year before the camp session.

Accident Insurance
All students will have accident insurance during ballet seminar and final performance only.
